About
A magnesium salt of palmitic acid — used to thicken formulations and give a smooth, powdery finish. Very gentle and well-tolerated.
Magnesium Palmitate (CAS 2601-98-1, PubChem CID 9850060) is the magnesium salt of palmitic acid, a common C16 saturated fatty acid. Functions as an opacifying agent, viscosity controller, and skin-conditioning agent in cosmetic formulations. Related to magnesium stearate (widely used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics), it has a well-established safety profile.
