About
Morpholinoethyl Guar is a cosmetic ingredient. Morpholinoethyl Guar is the organic compound that conforms generally to the formula, where R represents Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Morpholinoethyl guar is a chemically modified guar gum (from Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) where a morpholinoethyl ether group is attached to the polysaccharide backbone. This modification improves substantivity and conditioning properties compared to unmodified guar. It functions as a film-former, thickener, and conditioning agent. The ingredient is not restricted in EU Annex II or III. Guar derivatives have a long history of safe use in cosmetics and are considered low concern for skin irritation. Biodegradable and environmentally preferable to synthetic polymers.
