Octyl formate (CAS 112-32-3) is the formate ester of 1-octanol used in perfumery for fruity-rose notes and as FEMA GRAS flavor (FEMA 2809). Slow hydrolysis releases formic acid (trace) and 1-octanol. RIFM/IFRA evaluated; broad industry acceptance. Not on EU Annex II.
