About
A medium-to-high ethoxylation polyethylene glycol isostearate ester used as an emulsifier and skin conditioning agent in a variety of cosmetic products including creams and lotions.
PEG-12 ISOSTEARATE is an ester of polyethylene glycol (12 EO units) with isostearic acid, providing a longer hydrophilic chain that reduces skin penetration compared to lower EO variants like PEG-2 or PEG-3 ISOSTEARATE. The 12-unit EO chain makes this a relatively safe PEG ester with good emulsification properties. The CIR panel has assessed PEG isostearates as safe. Not restricted in EU Annexes II or III. The branched isostearic acid moiety provides oxidative stability.
