About
A nonionic surfactant and emulsifier based on glycerol and oleic acid ethoxylated to a high degree; it has a good safety profile with no EU restrictions.
PEG-25 GLYCERYL OLEATE is the polyethylene glycol (25 mol EO average) monoester of glyceryl oleate, functioning as a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier in cosmetic formulations. It is not listed in EU Annex II (banned) or Annex III (restricted) substances. The higher ethoxylation degree (25 mol EO) compared to PEG-10 and PEG-15 variants provides improved water solubility and a milder profile with lower irritation risk. Trace 1,4-dioxane from the ethoxylation process is a standard impurity consideration.
Skin benefits
- Provides effective emulsification for various cosmetic formulations
- Offers emollient and skin-conditioning benefits
Known concerns
- Potential trace 1,4-dioxane residue from ethoxylation process
