Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.

A PEG caprate derived from medium-chain fatty acids, used as an emulsifier and skin conditioning agent in various cosmetics.

PEG-8 Caprylate/Caprate is a PEG ester with 8 mol ethylene oxide based on caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) fatty acids. Medium-chain PEG esters are well-studied cosmetic ingredients with a strong safety record. EU Regulation 1223/2009 permits this category with standard purity requirements. The C8/C10 chain length provides excellent digestibility and low irritation potential.
