A medium-chain polyethylene glycol stearate ester used as an emulsifier and skin conditioning agent in a variety of cosmetic products including facial moisturizers and body lotions.
PEG-9 STEARATE is the esterification product of polyethylene glycol (9 EO units) with stearic acid, providing balanced emulsification properties suitable for oil-in-water formulations. The 9-unit EO chain offers moderate skin penetration potential while maintaining a favorable safety profile consistent with CIR assessments of PEG stearates. Not restricted in EU Annexes II or III under Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009. The medium EO chain provides good water solubility for aqueous cosmetic formulations.
