About
A synthetic five-amino-acid peptide positioned as a skin-conditioning signal. Benign safety profile; efficacy rests largely on manufacturer studies.
Pentapeptide-47 is a short synthetic peptide supplied for skin-conditioning claims. Pentapeptides are too small to penetrate the stratum corneum in meaningful amounts without delivery aids, so their in-use activity depends heavily on formulation. The molecule has no known GHS hazards and short peptides generally show extremely low irritation and sensitization potential. However, this specific INCI has not been reviewed by CIR or the SCCS, and peer-reviewed efficacy data is limited. Typical finished-product inclusion is in the ppm range after dilution from the supplier solution.
