A cationic polymeric hair and skin conditioning agent that forms substantively adherent films; widely used in rinse-off hair care with a favourable safety profile.
Polyquaternium-34 is a quaternary ammonium-containing cationic polymer classified as a skin and hair conditioning agent with antistatic properties. It is not listed in any EU cosmetic restriction Annex and carries no GHS hazard classifications. As a cationic polymer it binds electrostatically to negatively charged keratin surfaces, providing substantivity and film-forming benefits without significant skin penetration. It is used in rinse-off hair care formulations, body washes, and skincare products at typical concentrations of 0.1-5%.
