About

An amine oxide surfactant derived from undecylenic acid (a fatty acid with antifungal properties), offering cleansing, foaming, and conditioning with mild antimicrobial benefits.

An amine oxide (N-oxide) surfactant produced from undecylenic acid (a C11 unsaturated fatty acid from castor oil) and propylenediamine, forming an amidopropylamine oxide. The undecylenic acid parent provides inherent mild antifungal/anti-yeast activity (used in foot care products). Functions as a nonionic surfactant with good foaming and conditioning properties. Undecylenic acid derivatives are not restricted in EU Regulation 1223/2009 Annexes. The amine oxide functional group is considered mild and environmentally compatible.

Skin benefits

  • Mild cleansing with antifungal properties
  • Good foaming surfactant
  • Conditioning and antistatic properties
  • Suitable for scalp and foot care formulations

Known concerns

  • May cause mild skin irritation in sensitive individuals
  • Undecylenic acid has characteristic odor
