About

Dried and ground Chamomilla recutita (German chamomile) flowers, leaves, and stems providing the full botanical spectrum. One of the most researched cosmetic botanicals with proven anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing properties.

Chamomilla recutita (Matricaria chamomilla, German chamomile) is one of the most extensively studied medicinal plants used in cosmetics. The powdered whole plant material contains all the characteristic constituents: chamazulene from the blue essential oil, bisabolol, farnesene, coumarins (herniarin), and flavonoids including apigenin derivatives. Under EU Regulation 1223/2009, Chamomilla recutita is listed in CosIng with no restrictions for topical cosmetic use. The powder form preserves all botanical constituents including the water-soluble flavonoid glycosides present in the leaves and stems.
