About
Ethyl Caprate is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Ethyl caprate (CAS 110-38-3), also called ethyl decanoate, is the ethyl ester of capric (decanoic) acid, naturally present in coconut oil, milk fat, and fermented products. It is used in cosmetics as a fragrance and flavouring material with a clean, mild, coconut-fruity note. The compound has an extensive safety record in both food and cosmetics, and IFRA/IOFI evaluations support its use without restriction. EU CosIng lists it with no annex entries, and no SCCS opinion flags it. It is one of the safer ingredients in this batch, with metabolic profiles similar to dietary fats.
