About

A PEG-modified glyceride emulsifier derived from myristic acid, used to stabilise cosmetic emulsions.

PEG-12 Glyceryl Dimyristate combines glycerin with 12 mol ethylene oxide and two myristic acid units. It functions as a nonionic emulsifier and surfactant. Under EU cosmetics regulation, permitted with standard purity conditions. The higher EO content and dual fatty acid chains provide good emulsifying power for various cosmetic bases. No entries in EU Annex II or III.

Skin benefits

  • Strong emulsifying properties for O/W emulsions
  • Skin conditioning and emollient effects
  • Provides a soft, smooth skin feel

Known concerns

  • Residual ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane concerns
  • Must meet standard PEG purity specifications
