About

A highly ethoxylated (20 EO) glyceryl ricinoleate derivative with excellent water solubility, used as a solubilizing and conditioning agent in aqueous cosmetic formulations.

The higher ethoxylation degree (20 vs 15) provides improved water solubility and clarity in aqueous systems. Same 1,4-dioxane considerations as other PEG-ricinoleates. CAS 51142-51-9 same as PEG-15 variant; cosmetic function varies with polymer length. EU cosmetics permit with standard reporting.

Skin benefits

  • Excellent solubilization of oil actives
  • Emollient properties
  • Skin conditioning
  • Good water solubility for clear formulations

Known concerns

  • 1,4-dioxane trace contamination possible
  • PEG sensitivity in damaged skin
  • Higher EO chains may increase sensitization risk in atopic individuals
