About
A highly ethoxylated polysorbate emulsifier derived from oleic acid, used as a solubilizer and emulsifier in water-based cosmetic formulations, with a high molecular weight that minimizes skin absorption and sensitization risk.
Sorbitan mono-9-octadecenoate PEG-40 ether. Functions as a nonionic surfactant, emulsifier, and solubilizer. Not restricted under EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009; no Annex II or III entries. The 40 mol EO chain provides excellent water solubility and high hydrophilicity, making it particularly effective as a solubilizer for fragrances and essential oils. The high molecular weight substantially limits dermal absorption.
Skin benefits
- Excellent water-soluble solubilizer
- Very low irritation and sensitization potential
- Effective for clear aqueous formulations
