About
A very highly ethoxylated glyceryl trioleate with an excellent safety and mildness profile, used as a nonionic emulsifier in cosmetics.
PEG-50 GLYCERYL TRIOLEATE is the polyethylene glycol (50 mol EO average) triester of glycerol and oleic acid, functioning as a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier. It is not listed in EU Annex II or Annex III restriction lists. The very high degree of ethoxylation (50 mol EO) results in minimal skin penetration and very low irritation potential, making it one of the safest and mildest emulsifiers in this chemical series. Trace 1,4-dioxane from ethoxylation may be present but is below concern thresholds at this high molecular weight.
Skin benefits
- Exceptional mildness suitable for sensitive-skin and baby-care formulations
- Provides emollient and skin-conditioning properties
Known concerns
- Potential trace 1,4-dioxane residue from ethoxylation process (low risk at high EO)
