About
Rye flour fermented with Lactobacillus — a postbiotic skin-conditioning ingredient. Gentle but rye-gluten-bearing.
Lactobacillus/Rye flour ferment is produced by fermentation of rye flour (Secale cereale) with Lactobacillus species, yielding a broth containing lactic acid, short-chain peptides, amino acids, B-vitamins and polysaccharides. It is used in skincare as a postbiotic conditioner and mild exfoliant (from lactic-acid content). No regulatory restrictions. Gluten content is real — relevant to rare users with topical cereal allergy, and a consideration for coeliac-labelled lines. pH and lactic-acid content may contribute to mild irritation at high use levels.
