About
Flax seed powder — omega-rich, soothing, and one of the safest botanical exfoliants.
Linum usitatissimum (flax/linseed) seed powder is rich in alpha-linolenic acid, lignans (secoisolariciresinol diglucoside) and mucilaginous polysaccharides that form a soothing film on skin. It is used in masks, cleansers and scrubs. CIR has reviewed flaxseed-derived cosmetic ingredients and found them safe as used. Raw flax contains trace cyanogenic glycosides, but dermal exposure is not toxicologically meaningful. No EU restrictions apply. Highly biodegradable.

- Mucilage content gives soothing, film-forming feel
