About
Finely milled rice germ — the nutrient-dense inner layer of the rice grain. A soft, silky powder loaded with vitamin E and phytic acid.
Oryza sativa germ powder (CAS 68553-81-1) is the ground rice germ, the embryonic portion of the rice grain (Poaceae). It is rich in tocopherols (vitamin E), B-complex vitamins, oryzanols, and phytic acid — all well-studied antioxidants. In cosmetics it is used as a gentle soft-focus bulking agent, mild physical exfoliant, and natural antioxidant booster, widely used in Japanese and Korean formulas. CIR has not published a dedicated review of this exact grade, but related rice-derived ingredients (rice bran extract, rice starch) are considered safe as used. No GHS hazards, no EU cosmetic restrictions. Inhalation of fine powder is the only meaningful caveat in manufacturing.
