About
Rosemary leaf powder — a classical herbal with potent carnosic and rosmarinic acid antioxidants. Mild essential-oil sensitizer caveat.
Rosmarinus officinalis leaf powder is milled from dried rosemary foliage, a widely consumed culinary herb. It is a rich source of carnosic acid, carnosol, and rosmarinic acid, which are well-studied antioxidants and are used as food antioxidants (EFSA-approved E392 rosemary extract). EU CosIng lists the ingredient without restriction. The essential-oil fraction contains 1,8-cineole and camphor, which can sensitize or irritate at higher levels, so concentrations in leave-on facial products are typically kept low.
