About
Beet leaf (chard-like) powder — a food-grade botanical rich in betalains and polyphenols, used for antioxidant skin-conditioning. Clean, mild profile.
Beta vulgaris leaf powder is milled from the dried foliage of the common beet (chard/Swiss-chard-type leaf). It contains betalain pigments (betanin), polyphenols, and minerals (iron, magnesium, vitamin K). In cosmetics it functions as an antioxidant and skin-conditioning additive at 0.1-2%. EU CosIng lists the ingredient and food-grade use is global. Main practical issues are deep red/green pigment that can stain products and skin, usual botanical variability, and the fact that nitrate content of leafy vegetables is an oral, not cosmetic, concern. No CIR monograph, no IARC classification.
