About
Powdered mangosteen peel — famously rich in xanthones, a class of antioxidants with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial action.
Garcinia Mangostana Peel Powder (CAS 90045-25-3) is the dried, ground pericarp of mangosteen, the edible tropical fruit. The peel is unusually rich in xanthones, especially alpha- and gamma-mangostin, plus tannins and anthocyanins. These compounds are well-studied for antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial (including anti-acne) activity. Cosmetic use is at 0.1–2% as a skin-conditioning and antioxidant ingredient in cleansers, serums, and masks. EU CosIng lists the powder without restrictions. No mechanistic safety red flags at cosmetic levels; high xanthone concentration warrants measured formulation rather than blanket dosing.
