About

Rosehip seed powder — vitamin-rich, gentle scrub from a trusted botanical.

Rosa canina (dog rose/rosehip) seed powder is milled from the dried seeds after hip processing. It carries residual rosehip oil (linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids), carotenoids and polyphenols. It acts as a mechanical exfoliant and a delivery vehicle for residual vitamins. Related Rosa canina extracts are CIR-reviewed as safe. The main quality concern is that unprocessed seeds carry fine hair fibres that can be irritating — cosmetic grades remove these. No EU regulatory restrictions apply.

Skin benefits

  • Rosehip seed byproduct rich in vitamin C precursors and lipids
  • Gentle biodegradable exfoliant
  • Source of beta-carotene and natural antioxidants

Known concerns

  • Seed hair fibres can irritate if improperly processed
  • Supplier variability in particle size
