Methylprednisolone suleptanate is a prodrug of the glucocorticoid methylprednisolone, designed for sustained-release injectable formulations. Corticosteroids are subject to restriction in EU Annex III (restricted substances) when used in cosmetic products due to risks of skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and endocrine disruption with prolonged exposure. Suleptanate as a promoiety does not bypass these restrictions. Human cosmetic use is prohibited.
