Derived from EU CosIng regulatory status, PubChem hazard data and published research. How we score.
A glyceryl-derived ethoxylated ester used as a nonionic emulsifier in cosmetics; it has a good safety profile with no EU restrictions.
PEG-15 GLYCERYL OLEATE is the polyethylene glycol (15 mol EO average) ether of glyceryl monooleate, functioning as a nonionic surfactant and emulsifier in cosmetic formulations. It is not listed in EU Annex II (banned) or Annex III (restricted) substances. The glyceryl backbone provides additional skin-conditioning benefits compared to simple PEG esters. Mild skin or eye irritation is possible at high concentrations. As with all PEG derivatives, trace 1,4-dioxane from ethoxylation may be present.
Skin benefits
- Provides superior skin-conditioning and emollient properties
- Effective nonionic emulsifier for cosmetic formulations
Known concerns
