About
A PEG-based emulsifier that helps blend oil and water phases, widely used in lotions, creams, and cleansing products.
PEG-6 Glyceryl Isostearate is a polyglycerol ester combined with polyethylene glycol (6 mol EO) and isostearic acid. It functions as a good emulsifier and surfactant in cosmetic formulations. Under EU Regulation 1223/2009, PEG compounds are permitted but must be manufactured to ensure low residual ethylene oxide (≤1 ppm) and 1,4-dioxane. The ingredient has no entry in EU Annex II or III, indicating standard regulatory status. Generally recognized as safe in rinse-off and limited-use leave-on products.
