APEGylated glyceryl ester that works as a water-soluble emulsifying agent, helping oil and water mix smoothly in cream and lotion formulations.
A polyoxyethylene glyceryl ester with an average of 6 ethylene oxide units per molecule, functioning as a nonionic O/W emulsifier. The cosmetic ingredient review panel (CIR) has evaluated similar PEG glyceryl esters and found them safe for use in rinse-off and leave-on products, provided residual 1,4-dioxane is controlled to acceptable levels. Not subject to specific EU Annex restrictions but falls under the general polysorbate/glycol esters guidance in Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
