Sorbeth-6 Tetraoleate is a cosmetic ingredient used in product formulations. Exercise caution due to limited available safety data.
Sorbeth-6 Tetraoleate is the polyethylene glycol (6 mol EO average) ether of sorbitol, esterified with four oleic acid units. It is a nonionic surfactant and W/O emulsifier derived from renewable sugar feedstock. The sorbitol backbone provides water-binding capacity while the four oleic acid chains provide emolliency. It is readily biodegradable and considered mild to skin. The EU Cosmetics Regulation permits its use without restriction; it is not listed on EU Annex II or III. The natural-origin profile makes it suitable for 'clean beauty' formulations.
