About
Tribulus (gokhru) root powder — a saponin-rich Ayurvedic botanical used for skin-conditioning and mild cleansing. Mid-yellow on thin cosmetic data.
Tribulus terrestris root powder is milled from the dried root of puncture vine, a plant with deep Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine usage. The characteristic constituents are steroidal saponins (protodioscin and related furostanol/spirostanol glycosides) along with flavonoids. In cosmetics it functions as a skin-conditioning and mildly surfactant ingredient, typically at 0.1-2%. EU CosIng lists it. The oral supplement record is broadly favourable at typical doses, but supplement markets have documented adulteration issues, making supplier authentication important. Peer-reviewed cosmetic-specific toxicology is modest. No CIR monograph; no IARC classification.
