Buphenine (also known as nylidrin) is a beta-adrenergic agonist that causes peripheral vasodilation and smooth muscle relaxation. It is used as a prescription drug for vascular disorders in some countries. It is not listed in EU Cosmetics Regulation (1223/2009) Annexes I–VI as an approved cosmetic ingredient. Beta-agonists are regulated as medicinal products rather than cosmetics ingredients.
