About
Red corn poppy flower powder — a decorative, anthocyanin-rich botanical with mild soothing effect. Not the opium-poppy species.
Papaver rhoeas flower powder (CAS 84696-43-5) is dried petals of the common red or corn poppy — a different species from opium poppy (Papaver somniferum) and lacking its morphine-type alkaloids. Instead it contains non-narcotic isoquinoline alkaloids in trace amounts (rhoeadine, rhoeagenine), anthocyanin pigments, and mucilage. EU CosIng lists it for skin-conditioning and antioxidant functions; no Annex II/III restrictions. No CIR or SCCS review. Topically the material is considered non-toxic.

- Rich in anthocyanin pigments
- Mucilaginous, soothing to skin

Known concerns
