About
A 255-amino-acid E. coli-derived fusion peptide combining rainbow trout and human-mimicking domains, intended for antioxidant, skin-protecting, and humectant applications.
This recombinant fusion protein joins rainbow trout s-Oligopeptide-1 with human-mimicking sh-Polypeptide-62 and Hexapeptide-40 via a methionine linker, expressed in E. coli. The larger size (255 aa) relative to shorter peptide ingredients means reduced skin penetration and lower likelihood of systemic exposure. EU cosmetics regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009) does not set specific limits on peptide chain length; however, SCCS has noted that peptide ingredients with molecular weights above ~500 Da have limited dermal absorption.
